Ningbo Shengyurui (Soundway) Medical Appliances Co., Ltd mainly manufactures Anaesthesia Mask, Aerosol Mask etc. used with ventilator. Since March, Soundway’s respiratory consumables are in short supply. Chen Weiwei, the supervisor of the warehouse, said that his warehouse staff sent out more than 40,000 boxes of goods every day till 11 or 12 PM. They were so busy that their hands trembled when they tried to pick up chopsticks for dinner.

However with the outbreak of COVID-19, almost all the customers asked for more stock and shorter delivery time. Even though Soundway is operating at full capacity, increasing production capacity by 30% and adding 15,000 anesthesia mask products per day, it still cannot meet the growing demand of customers. Thirty percent is already the capacity limit, and the whole plant would collapse even a little more capacity added.

In order to maximize efficiency and increase production capacity, the company has urgently acquired new equipment for testing the tightness of Anesthetic Mask, which can test 7,000 products a day.Instead of the two hours it used to take to detect each mask, the new device can detect leakage in just 30 seconds. Meanwhile, Soundway are busy developing moulds for CPAP masks that can increase production fivefold.
